Twenty singers from Greater Manchester are being offered an exciting opportunity - to be part of the recording of my forthcoming new album!
The opportunity is part of a two-year Arts-Council funded project which enabled me to spend a month in my homeland (DRC) researching Central African musical traditions.. Since returning to Manchester, I has been collaborating with local composer Jaydev Mistry, to produce a series of new songs.
As an experienced vocal tutor, I am inviting those interested to join two free preparatory vocal workshops and rehearsals..
These will take place between 5pm and 7pm on Fridays 6th and 13th May at Sacred Trinity Church, Chapel Street, Salford M3 7WQ.
In the workshops participants will be introduced to the new songs and learn new singing techniques, including the art of harmonising with others. Afterwards, those who want to will be invited to record parts on two or three songs on the album. There will also be the opportunity to perform live with me further down the line.
Participation is free and transport and refreshments will be provided.
Places are offered on a first come, first served basis. To reserve yours, or for further information, call 07868 591 070 or email me at sremmanuela@googlemail.com.
